We spend a lot of time in our vehicles, commuting to work, driving kids to school, going to the bank, and attending family outings. It is easy to see the importance of having a reliable auto insurance policy that provides protection for you and your family.

 


Understanding Your Auto Policy

Listed below are the many different parts of an auto policy and what coverages apply.

Liability- Protects Others & Their Property- Liability is broken down into two sections:
  • Bodily Injury Liability Coverage covers you for accidental Bodily Damage, which you or the driver of your car does to someone else. If you are at fault for the accident, this coverage will compensate the other driver for any injuries, up to the limit of coverage you have chosen. If you are sued due to this loss, the cost of your legal defense is also covered.
  • Property Damage Liability Coverage covers you for accidental Property Damage, which you or the other driver of the car does to someone else. If you are at fault, this coverage will cover any damage done to the other party's property, up to the limit of coverage you have chosen. This coverage also covers the cost of your legal defense.

*****Liability coverage is mandatory in the State of Louisiana.

Uninsured Motorist, Underinsured Motorist, and Medical Payments- Protect You & Your Passengers

  • Uninsured Motorist Coverage covers you for bodily injury that you sustain in an auto accident due to the negligence of an uninsured motorist, up to the limit of coverage you have chosen.
  • Underinsured Motorist Coverage covers you for bodily injury that you sustain in an auto accident due to the negligence of an underinsured motorist (someone who has auto insurance but not enough coverage to pay for your injuries), up to the limit of coverage you have chosen.

Medical Payments Coverage covers you, along with anyone in the car with you, for medical expenses related to injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Comprehensive and Collision-Protect Your Auto

  • Comprehensive Coverage covers you for damages to your vehicle due to fire, theft, hail, flood, or impact with an animal. A variety of deductibles is available.
  • Collision Coverage covers you for damages to your vehicle when it collides with another object. A variety of deductibles is available.

****Deductibles are the amount of money that you must pay before the insurance pays.

Rental Reimbursement and Towing

  • Rental Reimbursement Coverage helps cover the cost you incur for car rental when your auto is involved in an accident.
  • Towing helps pay for the cost you incur for having your auto towed from the accident scene or breakdown.

Motorcycle

The percentage of motorbikes on the road has grown considerably over the years. Just imagine the financial burden you could suffer from a loss if you do not have sufficient motorcycle insurance.

  • Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability cover your legal liability if you are involved in an at fault accident. Your insurance company pays for the cost to replace or repair damaged property, the medical bills and wage loss incurred by an injured person, and other damages you are legally obligated to pay as a result of an accident.
  • Guest Passenger Liability provides protection for a guest passenger in the event that you are found legally liable in an accident on your motorcycle.
  • Comprehensive and Collision cover the cost to repair or replace your motorcycle if it is stolen or damaged in an accident, no matter who is at fault. You share in the cost by paying a deductible.
  • Uninsured Motorist and Underinsured Motorist pay for medical treatment, wage loss, and damages to your vehicle from an accident if the other party is at fault and does not have insurance or is underinsured.

RV's

Damage to or destruction of your recreational vehicle can shatter pleasurable experiences and is certainly a loss you do not want sustain. Your recreational vehicle represents a sizeable investment and you want to ensure that your family will continue to enjoy many more trips.

RV Insurance has several different coverages that can be applied to your policy to best suit your needs.

 

RV Coverages:

  • Roadside Assistance Coverage provides towing to the nearest qualified repair facility and necessary labor at the place of disablement when your RV is disabled due to any mechanical or electrical breakdown, dead battery, flat tire, lockout, insufficient supply of fuel, oil, water or other fluids.
  • Roadside Assistance Coverage is even extended to vehicles being towed by your Motor Home and vehicles towing travel trailers.
  • Replacement Cost Personal Effects Coverage pays up to the specified Replacement Cost limits for loss of or damage to your RV contents that are normally used in conjunction with your RV. .
  • Vacation Liability Coverage pays up to the specified limits for bodily injury and property damage for which you are legally liable as a result of an accident that occurs while the RV is used as a temporary vacation quarters. If Full Timer's Coverage is present, Vacation Liability is not required.
  • Emergency Vacation Expense Coverage comes into play ff your RV becomes inoperable due to a covered loss more than 50 miles from home. Emergency Vacation Expense Coverage pays for reasonable temporary living facilities, transportation and the cost of returning your RV.

Boats

Living in Louisiana and being a boat owner, you have probably spent a fun filled day of fishing, water skiing, and a relaxing evening boat ride on the bayous with family and friends. Knowing that your boat is covered with superior protection should make your day even more stress free.

Watercraft Insurance provides liability protection only. If you are found at fault in an accident, this covers any bodily injury or property damage to the other vehicle. You can add comprehensive, collision, medical, uninsured motorist and towing to your policy. These coverages cover your vehicle and any bodily injuries to anyone in your vehicle.
